MANILA, Philippines - University of Santo Tomas and St. Scholastica’s College scored big triumphs recently to share the lead in the collegiate division of the Milo-sponsored Women’s Basketball League organized by the BEST (Basketball Efficiency and Scientific Training) Center.

The Tigresses scuttled a fighting University of the Philippines-Diliman, 55-45, to claim their second straight win in Group A. UP-Los Baños made up for the loss of its sister team by routing Miriam College, 63-16, for a 1-1 win-loss card, also in Group A.

It was a big show by St. Scholastica’s College in Group B, however, when it demolished San Beda-Alabang, 58-12, also for its second straight win.

Assumption College, meanwhile, claimed its third straight victory in the high school competitive division by zapping St. Bridget School, 56-29.

In High School Competitive A, Montessori Integrated School blasted Assumption Antipolo, 49-40, for its first win, while New Era edged St. Pedro Poveda College, 49-47, to level its record at 1-1.

High school developmental winners were Miriam over PWU-JASMS, 52-11; St. Theresa’s College over Quenzon City Science HS, 20-0 (walkover); and Colegio San Agustin Makati over School of St. Anthony, also via default.
