Metro Card Club holds poker tourney

MANILA, Philippines - A guaranteed prize pool of P2-million is up for grabs in Metro Card Club’s Metro Anniversary Primer freezeout tournament set Oct. 15-19 at its premier poker room at the Metrowalk in Pasig.

With a buy-in of only P2,000, the event is expected to attract a record number of participants from all over the country and neighboring nations.

“This is our way of expressing our gratitude to the ever-growing Filipino poker community for keeping us the No.1 poker room not just here in the Philippines but in Asia,” said Metro Card Club president Nick Galan.

Marketing manager Miguel Cuneta said the tournament can accommodate as many as 1,000 players and hundreds have already signed up for the three Day 1s.

At least P400,000 will go to the champion, thus making it the tournament with the biggest “expected value.”

Besides having the biggest poker room, Metro Card Club also offers the best structured tournaments in the country with a buy-in as cheap as P300.
