Salcedo, Lim top AGC monthly tilt
MANILA, Philippines - Jojo Salcedo and Cesar Lim came away with victories in contrasting fashions to top their respective groups in the Architects Golf Club monthly tournament at the Royal Garden Golf Club in Bo. Cutcut, Angeles City.
Salcedo shot a net 64 from a gross 79 to run away with a six-shot victory over Jun Fojas in Group I of the five-division group sponsored by Boysen Paints. Fojas had a net 70 from a gross 84 while Boy Alcantara settled for third with a net 71 from a gross 80.
Lim, on the other hand, turned in a net 63 from a gross 82 as he nipped Henry Wee-Ebol, who had a 65 from a gross 84, for the Group 2 crown. Manny Padit placed third with a 67 from a gross 86.
The tournament also served as a qualifier for the match play event.
Danny Tabifranca put in a net 61 from a gross 86 as he pocketed the Group 3 plum, beating James Rosca, who had a net 68 (gross 91), and Neil Magkilat, who shot a 71 (gross 95) in the event backed by Hunter Douglas Phils., Inc., Jellco Enterprises, Julant/Pycor Premise-SC, Kuysen Enterprises Inc., OMSVAC Enterprise Inc. and Megacem, Inc.
Ed Casares topped Group 4 with a net 65 (gross 95), edging Prim Milan, who had a 66 (gross 96), while Mario Nabor carded a 67 (gross 93) to finish third in the tournament supported by Philflex Wires and Cables, Republic Powdercoat, Samitrade Marble and Granite, Inc. and Sycwin Electric Wires and Cables.
