Estrada scores in Butuan opener

MANILA, Philippines - Gilbert Estrada of Cantillan, Surigao del Sur pulled off a 6-2, 2-6, 7-6 (7-3) victory over Ruel Capangpangan of Bayugan, Agusan del Sur at the start of the third leg of the Johnny Arcilla Tennis Circuit at the Luz Village Tennis Club, Butuan City.

Kevin Barte of Davao City dominated Roques Banaria and ran away with a 6-1, 6-0 rout in the tournament organized by the United Tennis Players of the Philippines headed by Hatta Dimaporo and sanctioned by Philta.

The country’s top 16 players are seeing action in the tournament, including top seed Johnny Arcilla, No. 2 PJ Tierro and third seed Elbert Anasta.

Also in the fold are Celestino Solon, Kevin Barte, Rolando Ruel Jr., Ronard Joven, Alexander Lazaro, Arvin Ruel, Michael Mantua, Mario Sabas, Gilbert Estrada, Kim Ivor Saraza, Arcie Mano, Juvan Divina Gracia, Russel Arcilla Jr.
