La Salle vs Ateneo in URCC
MANILA, Philippines - La Salle and Ateneo will bring their storied rivalry to Mixed Martial Arts when two of their finest fighters clash today in the featured match of the Colt 45 Universal Reality Combat Championship (URCC) University Challenge at the A. Venue Events Hall in Makati.
La Salle’s Meeshal Al-Khuzeem, a 5-foot-10 grappler with dangerous leg kicks and excellent take downs, battles 5-foot-7 Ralph Mendita of Ateneo in the welterweight division of the 15-bout spectacle that is expected to draw another huge crowd at Makati’s newest sports hall.
Action starts at 7 p.m.
“Like our previous tournaments, we expect another exciting bouts especially the showdown between Al-Khuzeem and Mendita,” URCC president Alvin Aguilar said. “We believe we can discover the next URCC star from this tournament.”
“With the rapid growth of the sport, we would like to encourage even the young ones to get into MMA. It’s now high time that we educate them that MMA is a legitimate sport,” added Aguilar.
The tournament is backed by Alaxan FR, E-Games, Chris Sports, Seair, Yoshinoya and Tribal Gear.
