Cagayan de Oro, Pangasinan host Milo Little Olympics

MANILA, Philippines - After its opening last week in Manila and Cebu, the Milo Little Olympics shifts to the Don Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center in Pangasinan and the Don Gregorio Pelaez Sports Center in Cagayan de Oro Sept. 11-13.

Among the featured events are athletics, badminton, chess, football, gymnastics, lawn tennis, swimming, sepak takraw, table tennis, taekwondo and volleyball.

 Now on its 22nd year, the Milo Little Olympics is aligned with the efforts of Milo to build champions in sports and in life.

 Last year, as many as 22,000 student athletes from close to 800 schools took part in the event, which featured 11 sports disciplines that teach children not just about sports excellence but also character-forming values like discipline, respect, determination and honesty to help them become well-rounded individuals. 

The Milo Little Olympics has long since become an integral part of the sports programs of schools and institutions not affiliated with major sports groups like the NCAA, NCRAA or the UAAP. 

To date, products of the Milo Little Olympics in gymnastics, taekwondo, tennis, athletics and swimming have represented the Philippines in major sports competitions like the Southeast Asian Games, Word Youth Cup (tennis) and the Asian Junior Track and Field (athletics).
