MANILA, Philippines - Thousands of young athletes all over the country will see action in the Milo Little Olympics kicking off in Manila and Cebu and on Sept. 11, 12 and 13 in Cagayan de Oro and Pangasinan.
Now on its 22nd year, the Milo Little Olympics is aligned with the efforts of Milo to build champions in sports and in life. Among the featured sports include athletics, badminton, chess, football, gymnastics, lawn tennis, swimming, sepak takraw, table tennis, taekwondo and volleyball.
The top athletes coming out of the regional meets will clash in the first ever National Milo Little Olympics scheduled on Oct. 23 in Cebu City,
The Milo Little Olympics has become an integral part of the sports programs of local schools and institutions that are not affiliated with major school leagues like the NCAA and the UAAP.
To date, products of the meet in gymnastics, taekwondo, tennis, athletics and swimming have represented the Philippines in major sports competitions like the South East Asian Games, Word Youth Cup (tennis) and the Asian Junior Track and Field.
