TRS-Ford Focus Cup unveils new season
MANILA, Philippines - The 2009 TRS-Ford Focus Cup unveils its kickoff leg this weekend at the Subic International Raceway.
The new batch of race car drivers to watch, all graduates of the Tuason Racing School clinics, will be competing for this year’s TRS -Ford Focus Cup powered by Ford Racing, Goodyear Racing, Standard Insurance, OMP, Discovery Suite, Yellow Cab, Aguila Auto Glass, BusinessWorld, C!Magazine, Fremuff, Dupont, Starbright Bodykits, Ultra Racing, Toptul, Orange Electronics, Rota Wheels, K&N, Unichip and Philippine Auto Club.
Alvin Ng, champion of the C! Top Driver Challenge, will banner an elite field, which includes Singaporean Marcus Wong, German national Stefan Wolf, Finnish Juha Roiha, Ding Dizon, Marvin Herrera and Bobby Horrigan.
Ng earned a berth in the Ford Focus Cup after winning all the legs of the C! Top Driver Challenge while Wolf is a 32-year-old product manager.
Roiha, who has joined numerous karting competitions, will now move on to car racing.
Joining them are Dizon, a 35-year-old executive of Coca-Cola, Herrera, a 32-year-old key accounts executive of Philip Morris, and Horrigan, Discovery Suites general manager, who’s fresh from his triumph in the Ford Focus-TRS Race of Champions last Aug.8 at Alabang Town Center.
