MANILA, Philippines - The Mazda BT-50-TRS Drift Team will now go up against the country’s top drifting drivers on the last leg of the Professional Drift Race this Saturday in Greenhills.
The ace drifting drivers Audel Sison, Stuart MacDonald, Bjorn Ongtiabok and brothers JP and Mike Tuason will try to deliver another impressive feat for the team powered by Mazda Philippines, Goodyear, Yellow Cab Pizza, Speedlab, Aguila Autoglass, C! Magazine, ROTA Wheels, Unichip, OMP, Dupont, Starbright Body Kits, Fremuff, H&R, K&N, Philippine Auto Club, Orange Electronics, Pocari Sweat, Discovery Suite and AutoCraft.
The Mazda BT-50 created quite a stir as it proved to be equally competitive in the motorsport field up against the Sylvia s15 and other super modified cars and more experienced drivers.
The pick-up turned out to be the biggest crowd drawer as the team surpassed the obstacles of modifying a full cab pick-up truck into a drift car and made it among the top finishers of the drifting series dominated by heavily modified cars revving up to 400 horsepowers.
“The Mazda BT-50 Drift truck and the team performed beyond our expectations. We are very happy with the results despite being first-timers and the only team competing with a diesel pick-up truck. As we gain more experience, we are confident that we will be even stronger in the coming season,” said Mazda Philippines brand manager Prudz Castillo.
