FEU rules PCSO beach volleyball

-

MANILA, Philippines - Far Eastern University laid claim to the title as the top collegiate team on the sand court after dominating Univeristy of Mindanao-Tagum City in the PCSO Invitational Women’s Inter-Collegiate Beach Volleyball Challenge at the Cantada Sports Center in Bagumbayan, Taguig.

Camille Abanto and Marigail Tolentino showed they have the title in mind right with a fast and strong start and sustained the momentum en route to a 21-14, 21-18 victory over the pair of Lourdilyn Catubag and Karen Quilarion in the finals of the event organized by Joe Cantada Sports and backed by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, Toyota-Otis, Toyota-Balintawak, Tanduay, Lucio Tan Jr. and Mapecon with ZestAir as the official airline.

“It was a well-played campaign for FEU. The other teams also played well but in the end, the best team emerged,”said Edgard “Boy” Cantada of the organizing Joe Cantada Sports.

Aside from the two finalists, other teams which saw action here were Ateneo de Davao University; Central Philippine University, Iloilo; University of St. La Salle-Bacolod; Ateneo de Manila University; University of the East; Colegio de San Juan de Letran; Adamson University; World Citi College and University of the Philippines.

Like in the recent Mayor Tinga Cup youth boxing championships also organized by Joe Cantada Sports, all the provincial participants were housed at the world-class Cantada Sports Center.
