La Salle Greenhills, Ateneo unbeaten in SBP
MANILA, Philippines - La Salle Greenhills-A and Ateneo scored big victories over the weekend to lead two other squads with unscathed record on top of their respective Small Basketeers Philippines divisions in the SBP-Passerelle twin tournaments at the Xavier School gym.
Amando Emmanuel San Juan III led LSGH-A with 12 points in beating Notre Dame of Greater Manila, 57-42, for La Salle’s third straight win in as many games. La Salle now tops SBP-C while NDGM dropped to 2-1. La Salle Santiago Zobel (1-2) rapped Malate Catholic School (0-3), 53-17, in the other Group C match.
Ateneo, meanwhile, routed San Benildo Integrated School, 85-4, to also claim its third straight triumph and stay clean on top of SBP-A. San Benildo skidded to its third straight defeat. Lourdes School (2-1) demolished San Beda College (1-2), 56-14, in the other Group A game.
Xavier School walked over Colegio San Agustin (1-2) for its third win in Group B. Don Bosco Technical Institute-Makati (2-1) smashed sister team DB-Technical College Mandaluyong (0-3), 61-26, in the other D match.
Lourdes School of Mandaluyong scuttled La Salle Greenhills-B (1-2), 65-27, for its third straight win and the Group D lead. Marish School (2-1) defeated Kids World Christian Academy (0-3), 56-25, in the other Group B match.
In the Passerelle matches, it was Lourdes School-QC over Don Bosco Technical College, 65-52; La Salle Greenhills over Notre Dame, 62-50; Unversity of the East over School of St. Anthony, 70-64; San Beda College over Golden Sunbeams, 120-20; and La Salle Zobel over University of Santo Tomas, 42-41.
