Huge field to compete in Bernabe Cup chess

MANILA, Philippines – A total of 300 participants will compete in the secod Mayor Florencio Bernabe Cup Parañaque Open chess tournament to be held Aug. 15-16 at SM Sucat Activity Center in Parañaque City.

The event, open to grandmasters and other top chess players, is supported by Mayor Bernabe and organized by the Youth and Sports Development Office adviser Benjo Bernabe and OIC Louie Perez.

The winner will win P30,000, the runner-up P20,000 and third placer P15,000 with the prizes being scaled down to the 20th place.
