Media Sports Club stages badminton tiff

MANILA, Philippines – Fourteen publications and four corporate guest teams have already signed up for the fifth Media Sports Club (MSC) invitational badminton championship slated Aug. 8 at the Rizal Memorial Badminton Center.

The Philippine STAR is defending its title against the Manila Bulletin, Inquirer, and Business Insight-Malaya.   

Also joining are Banat, Bulgar, the National Press Club (NPC), Defense and PNP Press Corps, the Freeman, Pilipino Star Ngayon, Pang-Masa, Hataw, the Manila Standard-Today and Manila Times.

Teams of Manny Villar lead the list of guest participants, which include the Senate, Aboitiz, Coca-Cola and San Miguel Corporation.

Edith Datuin-Angeles, head of the organizing committee, said interested participants can still send their line up to the NPC Office or e-mail to tournament director Edwin Rollon at [email protected].
