Baycats triumph for share of lead

MANILA, Philippines - Defending champion San Sebastian College-Cavite trounced University of Makati, 96-69, to join STI Colleges and Informatics International College for the lead in the ninth National Athletic Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (NAASCU) basketball tournament at the Pasay Sports Complex.

Led by rookie guard Lloyd Pono and handled by coach Edgar Macaraya, the Baycats established several double-digit leads on the way to another easy victory over the hardy Herons.
