Highlands Ladies Cup up Aug. 15

-

MANILA, Philippines - The country’s top golfing lady executives and corporate bigwigs plus their guests mix it up again next month when the Highlands Ladies Cup holds its fourth staging on Aug. 15 at the Tagaytay Midlands Golf and Country Club in Tagaytay.

Organized by the Tagaytay Highlands Ladies Chapter, headed by event’s chairpersons Sandy Prieto-Romualdez, also THLC’s sports captain, and THLC president Dionne Cu, the event will have a maximum field of 150 players vying for top honors in various divisions.

Expected to hit the ceremonial drives are Tagaytay Highlands president Jerry Tiu and Willy Ocier, vice chair of Tagaytay Highlands along with other guests.

The 18-hole tournament, also held to foster camaraderie among the competitors, will have a shotgun start and will be played under the System 36 scoring format.

San Miguel and CATS Motors are the event’s platinum sponsors while Pagcor and Shell lead the early roster of silver backers and Odyssey Music as bronze sponsor.

The wind-raked par-72 layout is being spruced up in time for the event, which is also expected to draw male players from both the government and private corporations and other fields.

Fabulous hole-in-one prizes will be up for grabs in the event, including a round trip ticket to the US, courtesy of Northwest Airlines.

The tournament also serves as a fund-raiser for the Sisters of Mary boys and girls town complex in Silang, Cavite as part of THLC’s social commitment.
