URDANETA, Pangasinan, Philippines – Ryan Dungca emerged as the solo champion in the Region 1/2/CAR eliminations for the Asian Indoor Games at the Balikbayan Hall of the Cultural and Sports Center here.
Dungca finished the three-day tournament with six points, half a point ahead of six other players at the end of the seven-round event. With the win, Dungca pocketed the top prize of P8,000 and one of 10 slots to the semifinal round of this qualifying tournament for the members of the Philippine team to the third Asian Indoor Games to be held in Vietnam on Oct.30 - Nov. 8.
