Mighty Sports posts 6th win

MANILA, Philippines - Mighty Sports reaffirmed its mastery over Gerry’s Grill, 92-87, to firm up its lead in the Mighty Sports Corporate Celebrity Cup at the D-Zone gym in Makati over the weekend.

With Bochi Domangas and former UP star player Edrick Ferrer at the helm, Mighty Sports scuttled Gerry’s Grill’s comeback to stretch its winning streak to six in the event organized by Jack Ruby.

Domangas sizzled with 31 points while Ferrer added 25 as Mighty Sports moved within two games of completing an eight-game sweep of the elims.

Mighty Sports, which also drew significant numbers from Rand Chu (17), Wowie Evangelista (11) and Paul Chua, goes for its seventh straight win against Metro Poker. A victory over Metro Poker will give Mighty Sports a twice-to-beat advantage in the semis slated next week.
