MANILA, Philippines - Hong Kong’s Wu Shiu Hong scorched the lanes of Paeng’s Midtown Bowl Wednesday, highlighted by the second perfect 300, to spark a major shake-up in men’s Class O competitions of the 38th Philippine International Tenpin Bowling Championships.
The 25-year-old Hong, who won the 2007 RP Open masters title, used his 15-pound Hammer Black Widow ball with smashing effect, opening his campaign with a 300, and followed it up with a 247 and 257 for a 804 total and the lead in the men’s Class O Singles. in the event sponsored by the University of Perpetual Help System, Department of Tourism, Amway Philippines, Philippine Sports Commission, Chowking, Colgate-Palmolive, The City Bowling Shop, USAct, Pearl Garden Hotel, Nestle Philippines, Paeng’s Midtown Bowl, Goldbridge Dental Services and Pan Pacific Manila, the tournament’s official hotel.
A three-time winner in the Asian circuit last year, Hong also took the lead in the men’s Open Masters qualifying with 1504, and the men’s Class O All-Events with 1564.
In the Youth Masters finals, BTA-Prima’s Jomar Jumapao and TBAM-Prima-RP’s Mades Arles took the Youth Masters crowns.
