Mizuno Infinity Run Sunday
MANILA, Philippines - The third Mizuno Infinity Run fires off this Sunday at the Fort Bonifacio Global City with close to 2,000 runners participating.
The event, which has competition in the 15K, 10K, and 5K distances, is expected to be dominated again by the country’s national athletes headed by two-time Olympian Eduardo Buenavista and last year’s defending champions Cresenciano Sabal and Ailene Tolentino.
The event is organized by Master Sports Corporation and presented by Gatorade. Interested parties can still register until today at RACE at the ground floor of the Vasquez Madrigal Plaza Bldg. at 51 Annapolis St. in Greenhills and at selected Mizuno outlets.
Kiyoshi Tatani, Mizuno Asia-Oceania manager, will fire the starting gun for the 15K run at 5:30 a.m. and will be assisted by David John Lovell Gopez, president of Master Sports Corporation, Paolo Cagalingan, general manager, and May Bernard, head-Mizuno running division. The 10K and 5K runs will be flagged off at 6 a.m.
Sanctioned and certified by PATAFA, the race starts at the 28th St. of the Fort Bonifacio Global City with the 15K and 10K distance running to Makati City via the Kalayaan flyover down to Gil Puyat Ave. and back. The 5K distance will be run inside Fort Bonifacio Global City and will pass 5th Ave., 34th St., University Parkway, McKinley Parkway and 26th St.
At stake is P57,000 for the top three male and female finishers of the 15K, 10K, and 5K runs as well as for the first finishers of the five age groups – 12-19; 20-29; 30-39;40-49; 50 and above.
Prizes for the top three finishers are P5,000, P3,000 and P1,000 in the 15K run, P4,000, P2,000 and P1,000 (10K) and P3,000, P1,500, P500 (5K). All first finishers of the age category competition will receive P500. All finishers will receive Mizuno Infinity Run t-shirts.
