Lady Falcons clinch No. 3 spot
MANILA, Philippines - Adamson showed its readiness for the Final Four, posting a 25-16, 25-21, 25-15 victory over Far Eastern U to arrange a semis duel with San Sebastian College in the sixth Shakey’s V-League at The Arena in San Juan yesterday.
Jill Gustilo took over the offensive chores for the defending champions, scoring 11 hits while Angela Benting and Paulina Soriano each contributed nine points to key the victory at the close of the single round quarterfinal phase of the league sponsored by Shakey’s Pizza and presented by Cherifer.
Adamson thus took the No. 3 spot in the semis and will face the No. 2 San Sebastian in the Final Four while FEU will take on topnotcher UST in a pair of best-of-three affairs.

Reigning MVP Nerissa Bautista conserved her strength for the crucial phase as she finished with just eight points, finding no need to anchor Adamson attack against the Lady Tams.
Rachel Anne Daquis had 14 points but failed to draw solid support from FEU mainstays with Mayeth Carolino held to just eight points and Irish Morada and Cherry Vivas struggling with a combined five-point output.
Earlier, Univ. of St. La Salle-Bacolod outplayed Univ. of San Jose-Recoletos, 25-12, 25-18, 25-14, to close out its stint with a 1-4 card. The Jaguars finished their campaign in the league backed by Accel, Mikasa, Mighty Bond and OraCare, without a victory in five games.
