MANILA, Philippines – Shean Bedi and partner Rodolfo Manuel pooled back-to-back rounds of 82 to romp away with the Class A crown in the sixth Camp John Hay Invitational golf tournament at John Hay Golf Club in Baguio City last Sunday.
Bedi, a seven-handicapper, shot 42 points in the first day then posted the maximum 43-point output in the next while Manuel strung up rounds of 43 and 41 as the duo settled for the maximum 82 points in two rounds for a combined aggregate of 164 under the Modified Stableford scoring system.
They beat the Euls Austin-Gary Cruz tandem (76-82-158) by six points in the 36-hole tournament presented by FERN Inc., makers of Fern-C and FernSlim, and Golforce and backed by Daniel Motors, Inc., Club Leisure Management Corp., Rudy Project, Dynamic Sports Corp., Federal Management and Maintenance Inc.
Fred Puckett and Sam Baon had 80-72 for a 152 for third in Class A (0-9).
