Forest Hills tops WGAP 2nd leg
MANILA, Philippines - Forest Hills proved no gracious host for the WGAP (Women’s Golf Association of the Phils.) field as it captured the Class A crown in the second leg of the circuit at home while placing third in Class C last Monday.
Mi Hee Kwak Kim came away with 42 points under the Modified Stableford scoring system at the Forest Hills Golf Club in Antipolo to lead the host squad’s charge in the 10-to-play, four-to-count tournament featuring the country’s top lady golfers from the premier golf clubs in the land.
Grace Atienza made 40 points while Tess Staub and Lily Young chipped in 36 and 34 points, respectively, as Forest Hills pooled a 152 to beat Tagaytay Highlands by two points.
The Highlanders drew 41 points from Hedy See, who won the individual title, while Tricia Maclang, Farah Imperial and Linnel de Villa had 38, 36 and 35, respectively, as Tagaytay Highlands finished with a 150.
Alabang, which dominated the kickoff leg of the WGAP-organized circuit last month, also at home, settled for third with a 149 with former jungolf star Geleen Handog firing 40 points.
Tagaytay Highlands, led by Lilibeth de Villa’s 46 and Marge Tan’s 41 points, topped Class B with a 156, beating Alabang (145) by 11 points.
