Firefly, Big Event rule NCA derby

MANILA, Philippines – The Firefly entry of Ray Allas and Ernie Austria and Big Event sa Paniqui AQR-II July 5 6-cock, an entry of Gov. Victor Yap and Bebot Roxas, shared championship honors in the National Cockers Alliance (NCA) Big Event Thursday.

Both entries earned five points in the season-ending tournament.

Tied with four points each were Erwin J.U. by Elmer Nepomuceno, Tata Pete Boy Sanleo by Mayor Ellan Nagaño and Jun Soriano, and Pasay Anniversary July 15-17 by Eric dela Rosa.

With 3 1/2 points were Jade Resort by Arman Santos and KT Kanluran by Jun Topaco.

The three-pointers were Ruel Ricafort, Boy Marson, Danny Teves, Gov. Ito Ynares, Bebot Uy, another entry by Gov. Vic Yap and Jun Mendoza, J. Palmares and Patrick Antonio.

The derby boosted the NCA scholarship funds for indigent college students.

The NCA currently has four scholars taking up veterinary science and agriculture major in poultry science at the University of the Philippines-Los Baños.
