NCA world derby starts at Ynares Center May 19
MANILA, Philippines - The World Championship Derby by the National Cockers Alliance on May 19, 21, and 23, at the Ynares Center is guaranteed to be the biggest cockfighting extravaganza in the sports calendar.
The international derby is dubbed the “Olympics of cockfighting” by American and Filipino breeders. Top American gamefowl enthusiast Larry Whitehead has already arrived in the country for the event.
The NCA World Championship Derby is the final derby in the NCA circuit. Its results will determine who will win cockfighting’s most prestigious title, the NCA Cocker of the Year.
Previous NCA Cocker of the Year winners Cong. Iggy Arroyo, Mario Villamor, Rudy Albano, Patrick Antonio, and Jun Santiago are top contenders in the event.
On the other hand, last year’s NCA World Championship Derby champions Bebot Villar, James Uy, Eric dela Rosa and Jun Topacio are looking to replicate their success this year.
The group of People’s Champion Manny Pacquiao and Patrick Antonio promises to give all other participants tough competition.
The frontrunners for NCA Cocker of the Year are Ruel Ricafort and Mario Villamor with 50 1/2 points and Bebot Uy with 46 points.
