CATS Motors, Sta. Elena stage Mercedes final

MANILA, Philippines - Long-time successful partners CATS Motors Inc. and Sta. Elena Golf Club are teaming up for the fourth straight time for the hosting of the Mercedes Trophy National Final set on June 1 in Cabuyao, Laguna.

CATS Motors said Sta. Elena is the ideal host venue for the event, being recently voted the 99th best golf course in the world outside of the US by the Golf Digest.

“The partnership demonstrates the strength of our relationship with the Mercedes-Benz owners and 50 VIP guests and sponsors expected to join in the one-day event which will have Daimler president for Southeast Asia Wolfgang Huppenbauer as special guest,” CATS Motors said.

Winners and runners-up from each division, except sponsors and guests, will fly business class courtesy of Philippine Airlines to Brisbane via Sydney to represent the country in the nine-country Regional Final sponsored by Daimler Aug. 19-21.

In addition to the regular prizes, players will have a chance in the Hole-in-One Challenge where one Mercedes-Benz E-Class E-300 will be on offer in three holes. In the event of multiple ace makers, the prize will be equally shared.

New MBTrophy sponsor, Dutch watchmaker TW Steel, will offer two oversized watches as hole-in-one prizes while Canon will put up its latest DSLR also as an ace prize. All three class winners will be awarded a TW Steel Watch each.

Philippine Airlines, PLDT, Infinity, Arrow Shirts and TW Steel are presenters while Canon Philippines, Coors Beer, Sta. Elena Properties, Seaboard Eastern Insurance, Crown Pipes, Business Mirror and Inquirer Golf Monthly are cosponsors.
