Partners Cup badminton slated June 6
MANILA, Philippines - A stellar cast of 184 players will mix it up for top honors and cash prizes in various divisions when the sixth Partners Cup Invitational Badminton tournament unfolds June 6 at the Yonex Badminton courts at the Liberty Center on Shaw Blvd. in Mandaluyong.
The annual event is held to promote fitness and health and at the same time foster camaraderie among the management and staff of Robinsons Land Corp.’s (RLC) and its business peers, including architects, consultants, project managers, contractors and suppliers and friends.
Cash prizes and fabulous items will be up for grabs in various categories, including Class Elite, and Classes A, B, C, D and E.
Highlighting the one-day tournament is the simultaneous staging of the FDG Cup, held in honor of Frederick Go, president of Robinons Land, which features a crack roster of international players from Korea going up against the country’s top shuttlers, headed by the veteran brother-sister tandem of Kennevic and Kennie Asuncion.
Glenn Encarnacion and Richard Bautista ruled last year’s Class A division with the duo expected to bid for a second straight championship along with the other winners in Vic Batungbacal and Jesus Dumlao (Class B), Paul de Silva and Alvin Gloriosa (Class C), Jacy Gamboa and Tina Maligat (Class D) and Raymond Baylon and Fhemie Medrano (Class E).
