Emerald Vinyl paces ABC anniversary tilt

MANILA, Philippines – Tony Naval, Jed Tiongson and Dante Manglicmot of Emerald Vinyl combined for 1766 pinfalls to lead the team event in the 32nd ABC anniversary bowling tournament at the Green Valley lanes in Pasig City last week.

Sonny Esguerra, Cynthia Tan and Boyet Libiran of Pacific World Bldg. Mngmt. scored 1733 while Boysen Paints, composed of Ega Reformado, Malou del Rosario and Eugene Panaguiton, had 1728 to finish second and third, respectively, in the weekly event sponsored by Boysen and Nation Paints.

Mar Quizon and Nonoy de Jesus of Philflex Wires and Cables submitted 1216 to pace Group I in the doubles event, while Paeng Villanueva and Charles Matiling of Boysen Paints topped Group 2. The Stone 2000 team of Eugene Panaguiton and Tony Sabater came up with 982 to bag the Group 3 plum.

Meanwhile, action in the event, backed by Crown Pipes, ABC Phils., Hocheng Phils. Pro Active Pest Control, Ragojos Heritage Const., Lepanto Tiles, Felport Mktg., Sika Phils. and Supreme Steep Pipe Corp., resumes at 4 p.m. today with the staging of the singles events. The team and doubles tournaments resume at 7 p.m., also at the Green Valley lanes.
