Criterium slated at Quezon City Elliptical Road Sunday

MANILA, Philippines – The Criterium Race 2009-Sigaw ng Kalikasan fires off Sunday at the Elliptical Road in Quezon City with a big field expected to clash for top honors in various divisions.

Organized by North Star Sports and Entertainment in cooperation with United Cyclist Association of the Philippines, the event features the top riders from the metropolis and aims to raise awareness on the climate change.

Pasig, Pasay, Muntinlupa, Manila, Taguig, Makati and Marikina will field in entries in the event backed by QC Vice Mayor Herbert Bautista.

Top five cyclists of each participating city will be chosen through eliminations and will see action in the grand finals.

A fun bike run will start at 6 a.m. to be followed by competitions in the executive division (men and women), masters (aged 14-17) and elite (pro-am) at 8 a.m.
