Eight US bets vie in RP Open 10-ball
MANILA, Philippines - The Billiard Congress of America (BCA) is fielding eight players in the inaugural Philippine Open 10-Ball Pool Championship at the SM Megamall on May 26-31.
Top-ranked players Shane van Boening and Corey Deuel will lead the North American bets, seven of whom are from the US and one from Canada.
Ranked No. 1 in the US and No. 6 in the world, Van Boening won the 2007 US Open championship and the Predator 10-Ball International Championship. Deuel is another US Open titlist and is ranked No. 15 in the world.
The other male players from the US are Gabe Owen and Oscar Dominguez.
The female players are Melissa Little, Sarah Rousey and Julie Kelley.
Canada will be represented by Jason Katt.
The BCA women’s bets will also be joining the WPA Women’s World Ten-Ball Championship scheduled on June 1-6 at the SM Mall of Asia.
Van Boening and the other male players will move on from Manila to Shanghai for the China Open in mid June, and the Qatar Open in late June.
