MANILA, Philippines – Four more provincial venues have been included in this summer’s Basketball Efficiency and Scientific Training Center’s (BEST Center) clinics.
Cagayan de Oro, Urdaneta in Pangasinan, Lucban in Quezon and General Santos City have joined six other provinces which welcomed the multi-awarded BEST Center, which pioneered the scientific approach in conducting basketball and volleyball clinics in the country.
A Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) awardee, the Milo-sponsored BEST Center is now celebrating its 31st year. It is the longest-running cage clinic manned by highly qualified coaches under the guidance of former national coach and BEST Center founder and chairman Nic Jorge. Jorge is also the youth commission chief of the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas.
The new provincial clinics will be held simultaneously from April 27-May 2.
St. Mary’s Academy will host the Cagayan de Oro clinics. Levels-1-3 students may enroll with Manolito Bombeo at 0919-660-1246.
The Pangasinan clinics for Levels 1-3, meanwhile, will be held at the Urdaneta City Cultural and Sports Complex and is being managed by Renren Ildefonso (0917-8977650) Levels 1 and 2 students in General Santos City will be housed at Notre Dame of Lagao under Dr. Chona Posadas Amador (0917-8334141) Ompong Segura (0917-3020614) will handle Levels 1and 2 students at the Lucban Aramin gym.
Lucena City, Mabalacat in Pampanga and Casaysay, Taal in Batangas, Roxas City, Cebu and Sta. Rosa, Laguna have recently held their own clinics for students who wanted to follow in the footsteps of rising basketball superstars like TY Tang and Chris Tiu, among many others.
Other provincial clinics will be scheduled in Zamboanga, Bacolod, Baguio, Pangasinan, General Santos City, Iloilo, Butuan, Davao and Tuguegarao.
