400 vie for honors in Riviera

MANILA, Philippines - About 400 players have signed up for the 11th Riviera Invitational at the world-class golf course in Silang, Cavite scheduled from April 23 to 26.

The yearly member-guest tournament of the Riviera Golf Club is a two-day, 36-hole, two-person team competition with the first day net-aggregate competition at the Couples Course; and, the second day, using the one-ball twosome system, at the Langer Course, one of the best courses in Asia. In both days, the Stableford system for scoring will apply. The field will be divided into three men’s divisions and one ladies’ division.

A Ford Focus is at stake as a major prize in the raffle during the awards night on April 26 at the Riviera Golf Clubhouse. The following hole-in-one prizes await the lucky players: a BMG Solar Water Heater, an EVA Airways round-trip ticket (Manila-Los Angeles or San Francisco-Manila), two PAL round-trip tickets (Manila-Macau-Manila), two golf carts (Club Car/Yamaha-Midori Saishi), and iron sets from Dynamic Sports Corp. and Pacsports Phils. Corp.
