TriDharma backs Filipino Chinese Basketball League caging

MANILA, Philippines - The annual FCBL (Filipino Chinese Basketball League) Freego Jeans’ Cup drew a new partner in TriDharma Mktg. Corp. when the high school basketball tournament kicks off Saturday with a heavy four-game schedule at the Buddhacare Gym near Araneta Ave. in Quezon City.

Rene dela Calzada, president of TriDharma which produces Energen Cereal Energy Drink, Hi-Smart Vitamins and Nutri-C Juice, said TriDharma’s support to the league is in line with the company’s effort to develop young basketball stars.

Defending champion Letran opens its title retention bid against NCAA rival San Beda in the 4 p.m. main game.

The tourney is backed by f’g Denims Revolution, Dickies Underwear, Old Chinatown Koptitiam, Clincher Packaging Tape, Nougat Candy, Colt Commercial, Powerbest Marketing and Star Galaxy Industrial Fabricator Inc.

Far Eastern U collides with SJCHS in the 10:30 a.m. opener. After the opening ceremonies, long-time hoop rivals La Salle and Ateneo square off at 1 p.m. to be followed by the 2:30 p.m. match between Jose Rizal U and UST.
