MANILA, Philippines - Hoops School (HOOPS), one of the most advanced basketball schools in the country today, is now open for registration for boys and girls who wish to learn the fundamentals of the game.
Advanced students or former HOOPS students will enroll at Hoops’ “Next Level” Basketball School.
Founded by former PBL commissioner and PBA team manager Charlie Favis and PBA seven-time Best Import Bobby Parks, Hoops will kick off its Ynares Sports Center camp starting April 17, 9-11 a.m. The rest of the seven sessions will be held April 19, 23, 25, 26, May 2 and May 9.
Hoops is sponsored by Wilson Sporting Goods, Accel, Spalding and San Miguel Corp. Fruit Juices.
For the rest of the summer, Hoops School will also be at Divine Light Academy in Las Piñas, Manresa School in BF Parañaque, IS Montessori in Bocaue, FAITH in Tanauan, Batangas, St. Mary’s Academy in Caloocan, Immaculate Heart of Mary College in Parañaque, Paco Citizens Foundation in Manila and at the Asian Development Bank in Mandaluyong.
The camps are open to kids six to 17 years old. Enrolees pay P1,650 registration fee for seven two-hour sessions under veteran trainers and coaches. They will also get free items such as a training ball (to improve spin and rotation), reversible jersey, sports bottle and sports bag. The advanced kids will get to use the NOAH, a computer/camera analyzer that provides verbal feedback of a shooter’s arc.
