LIPA, Batangas , Philippines – Slots for the Asia-Pacific Championships will be up for grabs when the Jungolf Summer Circuit presented by Philippine Airlines moves to the challenging Mt. Malarayat Golf and Country Club for the second leg starting tomorrow.
Top finishers in Class A, Class B and Class D divisions after the three-day competitions at Mt. Malarayat will compose the Philippine team to the annual As-Pac tourney slated May 13-17 in Bangkok, Thailand.
The organizing Jungolf Foundation of the Philippines announced that the top four boys and top three girls in Class A and Class B and the No. 1 player in both divisions of Class D will earn the Bangkok slots.
Sponsors of the eight-leg Jungolf summer circuit are Diamond Motor Corp., Club Marinduque, Unilever, Ottica Corp.,/Fury, Callaway/ Electrobus, Goin Straight, Golf Depot and Aces Agri Manufacturing Corp. It is also supported by NGAP, Federation of Golf Clubs and Inquirer Golf.
Heading the cast are Fil-Briton Edward Reyes and Regan de Guzman, the top individual performers of the recent Jungolf Interclub dominated by the Army Golf Club.
The As-Pac qualifier serves as the final warmup for the grueling 108-hole Junior World qualifier at Sherwood Hills and Manila Southwoods.
Separate competitions for Class E and Class F will be held also for three days.
