MANILA, Philippines - With all 250 teams representing 500-player slots filled up, everything is set for the Invitational 2009 member-guest tournament slated at the Masters and Legends courses of the Manila Southwoods starting April 2.
Heading the list of participants is the lady tandem of Nelda Roguel and Farrah Imperial, overall defending champion in the 36-hole Modified Stableford competition.
Teams teeing off on April 2 will end their round April 4 while those playing April 3 will finish April 5.
Aside from trophies in the premier championship and four divisions at stake, the event offers hole-in-one prizes.
Tito Avanceña, officer in charge, said a Mitsubishi Lancer GLS from Mitsubishi Motors and Diamond Motors and an eight-day Alaska Cruise from Royal Caribbean/Baron Travel with Korean Air business class tickets for two via Manila-Vancouver-Manila are staked. Other travel packages are an Asian cruise with airfare for two, a vacation golf to Kota Kinabalu from Sabah Tourism Board, a three-night stay for two at the Mactan Shangri-La, a three-day stay for two at El Nido and a vacation to either China or Bangkok from Coca-Cola.
Also staked in the event backed by Hi-Tec, Golforce and Warbird Security are an SYM Motorbike, a 2HP Mit-Air airconditioning unit, golf sets from Wilson, Mizuno and Dynamic Sports and two golf carts from Club Car-Pacsports and Texas Eagle-Turf Company.
