Mendoza elected SPPAP president

MANILA, Philippines - Jun Mendoza of The Philippine STAR was elected president of the Sports Press Photographers Association of the Philippines, replacing Ramon Vecina of Police Files.

The other officers who will serve until 2011 are Bob Dungo of Manila Bulletin (vice president), Ver Noveno of People’s Journal (secretary), Lino Santos of Manila Standard Today (auditor) and Vecina (treasurer).

Harry Angping, chair of the Philippine Sports Commission, will induct the SPPAP officers Thursday night at Julie’s in Dampa along Macapagal Ave.

Composing the SPPAP Board of Directors are Joey Mendoza of The Star, August dela Cruz of Inquirer, Manolet Santiago of Malaya, Tony Pionila of Manila Bulletin, Cesar Panti (Bulgar), Rene Dilan (Manila Times), John Paulino (Abante), Jeff Venancio (Remate), Rey Nillama (Saksi) and Tony Nepomuceno (Basketbolista).
