33 teams vie in Growee Boracay beach football
BORACAY , Philippines – The Tropang Growee Beach Football Tournament opens today at the Bamboo Beach Resort with some 33 teams taking part.
The four-division, five-a-side football tournament, sponsored by Growee Vitamins and organized by the Kiwanis Club of Boracay, is open to booters aged 14 and under and 10 and under in both the boys and girls sides.
Originally held every summer as part of Kiwanis Boracay’s outreach program for children, the tournament is now on its eighth year and the entry of Growee as corporate sponsor ushers in the growth of beach football in the island.
Growee’s Sherwin Arceo and Kiwanis Boracay president Levi Gaac will do the ceremonial kick set this morning at the beach football courts in the resort.
The participating teams:
12-U boys – Manoc-Manoc, Global, Mission of Love, Bloomfield, Yapak, Brent International School, Hagdan, Balabag;
12-U girls – Manoc-Manoc, Global, Mission of Love, Yapak, Brent IS, Hagdan, Balabag;
10-U boys – Manoc Manoc, Global, Island Home, Mission of Love, Bloomfield, Yapak, Brent IS, Hagdan, Balabag;
10-U girls – Manoc Manoc, Island Home, Mission of Love, Bloomfield, Global, Yapak, Brent IS, Hagdan, and Balabag.
