Nkemakolam also out of Blue Eagles

MANILA, Philippines - Banger Jobe Nkemakolam is out of the Ateneo basketball team for good.

Ateneo athletic director Ricky Palou yesterday said the 6-4 Nkemakolam will no longer see action when the Eagles defend their seniors’ crown in the 72nd University Athletic Association of the Philippines season beginning July 11 at the Araneta Coliseum.

“He’s out of the team,” Palou told The STAR referring to Nkemakolam, member of the team that swept La Salle in their best-of-three finals showdown last year.

For failing to attend the mandatory team functions, Nkemakolam was dropped from the team as early as late last year after Ateneo finished second to La Salle in the Smart-PLDT Collegiate Champions League. – Joey Villar
