Pinoys up versus foreign rivals in KF2, KF3

-

MANILA, Philippines – Filipino karters try to get even with foreign rivals in the second leg of the 2009 Pagcor Sports KF2-KF3 Series March 22 at the Carmona Circuit Philippines.

Bobby Domingo of AUTS Racing and Roby Benito of Ready2Race pulled the trigger in the kickoff race as they dominated the KF2 and KF3 classes, respectively. However, Japanese Daiki Sasaki and Indonesian Senna Noor pulled off big wins in Round 2, and this is something local bets have to deal with in this race where Pinoys battle four Indonesians and seven Japanese for the titles at stake.

The Japanese Kuwayama karters played solid teamwork as Nobuharu Matsushita, Reo Takahashi, Tsubasa Takahashi and Koki Hoshino secured Sasaki’s triumph in several determined dives to slip past Filipinos at the hairpin.

John Alvarez of Maranello-San Miguel-Marcelo Racing emerged the top Filipino finisher, giving a strong defensive fight to capture the runner-up finish against Takahashi and Hoshino, who closely followed in third and fourth, respectively.

Noor likewise got big help from Indonesian teammate Andhika Sasabone to control the tempo in the KF3 race from start to finish and win with a six-second margin over Jet Racing’s Franco Reyes and Andres Calma of San Miguel Corporation.

Hoping to provide back-up for Domingo and Alvarez in the KF2 division are Jet Racing’s Javi Benitez and RG Romero.
