MANILA, Philippines - The American Cocker Spaniel Club of the Philippines (ACSCP), an affiliate of the Asian Kennel Club Union of the Philippines, Inc. (AKCUPI) will mark its 19th anniversary with the holding of its 25th and 26th All-Breed Dog Shows on Saturday, 10 a.m. at the People’s Village of Tiendesitas, Ortigas Ave. cor. E. Rodriguez Jr. Ave. (C-5), Pasig City.
Jester Jo Ong Chuan, ACSCP president, said two veteran judges, a Filipino and an American, will officiate at the dog shows and will have their own set of winners for best in show, best Philippine-born in show, and best puppy in show. The shows will be participated in by seven breed groupings, terrier, herding, sporting, hound, non-sporting, working and toy.
The club was formally organized in 1990 through Joseph Ong Chuan’s initiative and with the support from Virginia Raymundo, Celda Teopaco Santos, Albert Lim, Jimmy Lim, Laura de Guzman, and Coty Otsuka.
The other officers of ACSCP are Virginia Raymundo, chairman, Motoei Furrukawa, 1st VP, John Irvin Uy, 2nd VP, Albert Lim, secretary, Francisco Ong, treasurer, Rossano Osi and Ferdinand Aquino, directors.
