DZMM Takbo sa Kalikasan up

MANILA, Philippines - The 10th DZMM Takbo Para sa Kalikasan will be held March 8 at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila with P80,000 at stake in the 10K, 5K and 3K running events.

Proceeds of the advocate race goes to the rehabilitation of the La Mesa Watershed which provides water to 12 million Metro Manila residents.

Participants in the 10K race will have a better chance of winning this year as the national athletes and seeded runners will have their own category dubbed as the Battle of Champions.

The male and female champions in the regular 10K race will receive P7,000 each plus trophies while the top male and female finishers in the Hall of Fame category will each pocket P5,000 plus trophies.

The 5K male and female winners will win P3,500 each while the top runners in the 3K age-group race for kids will receive P1,500 each.

Special awards are also in store for the biggest ABS-CBN division contingent in the Kapamilya Para sa Kalikasan division.

A cash prize of P3,000 will also be awarded to the biggest government contingent, biggest NGO contingent and biggest school contingent that joined the race.

The first 10 families (minimum of five members) to reach the finish line in the 3K race will each receive five Manila Ocean Park gift certificates with free breakfast.
