Metro Open netfest listup ends tomorrow
MANILA, Philippines - Interested participants in the Metro Manila Open People’s Championship will have until 12 noon tomorrow to submit their entry for the event with the draw to follow at 2 p.m. The Grade A tournament presented by Cebuana Lhuillier, Philten, Le Solei de Boracay and Just Jewel, is set Feb. 24-28 at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center with qualifying rounds slated Feb. 23 at the same venue.
A total of P302,000 cash prizes awaits the winners of the men’s and women’s singles and doubles competitions.
The men’s champion will not only receive a P60,000 cash purse but also seat in the Philippine Davis Cup Team which battles Hongkong on March 6-8 in the first round of the Asia-Oceania Zone Group II competitions.
The women’s singles titlist will receive P25,000 cash, while winners in the men’s and women’s doubles will earn P15,000 and P8,000, respectively.
