Bacchus vies in Taiwan tilt

-

MANILA, Philippines - Bacchus Energy Drink has been invited to compete in the Taiwan International Tournament next week in Taichung, Taiwan following its impressive showing in the recent PBL PG Flex Linoleum Cup.

Team manager Alfonso Kaw of AK7 said the trip is also part of the team’s bonus following its third place finish in the season-opening tournament – their best showing since joining the league in 2004.

Aside from competing in the four-nation tournament, Kaw said team patron Bong Tan will also tour the players as part of their build-up for the coming PBL tournament slated late next month.

The Energy Warriors, composed mainly by stars of University of the East, almost made it to the finals after taking a 2-1 lead in their best-of-five semis series with Magnolia Purewater, but their inexperience did them in.

“That’s the reason why Mr. Tan is giving them the opportunity to play against teams from other countries,” said Kaw.
