Southwoods stages seniors golf tournament

-

The Manila Southwoods Golf and Country Club Seniors Chapter, headed by president Ben Borja and vice president and tournament chairman Paco Gonzales, will host the first Manila Southwoods Seniors Invitational Feb. 10-11 in Carmona, Cavite.

The unique format, featuring the club’s elder members and their senior guest partners, is aimed at fostering camaraderie among the Southwoods seniors.

Gonzales said he expects around 200 golfers to take part in the two-day event presented by Kart Plaza and sponsored by Boracay Sands Hotel, Coca Cola Bottlers Phils., Elro Commercial & Industrial Corp., Bix Corp./Bravo Golf, Fairways and Bluewater and Rudy Project.

Kart Plaza is staking a Yamaha golf cart each at the Masters and Legends courses of Manila Southwoods as hole-in-one prizes. Another cart, also a Yamaha, will be on offer as a major raffle item.

Wilson Sports, Callaway and Mizuno are each giving away complete sets to ace makers.

A three-day/two-night stay at Boracay Sands Hotel, and a three-day, two-night golf vacation package at Fairways and Bluewater are also up for grabs.

Federal Management, Group Management & Dev’t. Corp., Gilbert Duavit, Camp John Hay Manor, Junsui Electromech, Mega Ricton, MRT, Pilipinas Shell, Red Eagle Lending Investors, Silver Icon Aluminum, Warbird Security, Whealth Inc., and YYD System are hole sponsors. CargoAire Freight Forwarders, CG Airconditioning Services, Phelps Dodge, and Superior Mainternance Services are backers.
