Baby Chiefs cop title in NCRAA

Arellano University unleashed a huge third quarter run to hack out a 93-85 win over Rizal Technological University recently and crown itself National Capital Region Athletic Association high school champion for the third straight year at the TIP-Casal Gym.

Kim Pagayunan, Zeus Loja and Jerben Sagmit conspired in that pivotal run as the Baby Chiefs sealed the best-of-three series, 2-1, and a third title in row.

The versatile Pagayunan paced the Legarda-based school with 20 points that showed he really deserved the junior MVP honors he received earlier while Erwin Catapang scattered 15 points.

Loja likewise fired 15 points he highlighted with what was probably the biggest shot of the series – a booming triple in the stretch that sent the rallying Thunder away.
