Guerra tops MCC chess

Top seed Lord Guerra of Adamson settled for a draw against unrated Eddie Sotto after 15 moves of an English Opening in the fifth and final round to top the MCC 1850 below standard chess tourney at the St. Francis Square in Mandaluyong City over the weekend.

Guerra, 20, finished with 4.5 points to clinch the title worth P3,000.

Sotto dropped to a share of second with Steven Dacanay, Randy Culangan and Ernie Faeldonia with four points apiece.
