World Slasher launched today

The press presentation for the world’s biggest cockfighting event, the 2009 World Slasher Cup Invitational 8-Cock Derby will be held today at the Mandarin Oriental Suites at the fourth level of Gateway Mall in Araneta Center.

Members of the media will be formally introduced to this year’s derby participants, who will all be showcasing their cockfighting prowess as the country’s top gamefowl breeders clash against prominent sportsmen cockers from Japan, Taiwan, Germany, Canada, Guam, Australia, Saipan, Malaysia and the United States.

Dubbed the “Olympics of Cockfighting,” the derby will be held Jan. 19, 20, 21, 22 and 24.
