UP, SSC gain share of Martin Cup lead

University of the Philippines and San Sebastian downed their respective rivals for a share of the lead with La Salle in the third Fr. Martin Collegiate Open Cup at the FEU gym over the weekend.

The Maroons slammed STI Colleges, 73-60, while the Stags stunned the three-peat NCAA champion San Beda Lions, 72-59, as they tied the Archers for the lead with two wins apiece in Group A.

Jose Rizal B trounced Mapua, 82-76, to book its first win in two games in the event backed by Molten, Magnolia Beverages, Basketbolista and gameface.ph and organized by Ato Badolato, Joey Lim and Kurt de Guzman with Aric del Rosario as commissioner.
