Texters break rules with Singapore trip?
Talk n Text might have violated a league rule in flying to Singapore and playing the Singapore Slingers while the KFC PBA Philippine Cup back home is ongoing.
The Tropang Texters have played two games with Slingers, winning in overtime Monday and losing yesterday.
League officials said the Tropang Texters will be asked to explain the purpose of since they left without notifying the Commissioner’s Office.
“The office will write them a letter and ask what was the trip for,” said PBA media bureau chief Willy Marcial.
“We heard they played a game. If it’s just a scrimmage, there’s no problem. But if they played an exhibition game, then it’s a violation of a league rule,” said PBA operations chief Rickie Santos.
The Tropang Texters gained automatic entry into the Philippine Cup semifinal round after finishing second behind the Alaska Milk Aces in the double-round elimination phase with a 11-7 win-loss card.
They await the winner of the San Miguel-Barangay Ginebra duel in the Final Four. – Nelson Beltran
