Hapee Toothpaste tries to firm up its bid for an outright semis bid as it battles lowly Pharex even as Bacchus collides with Toyota Otis today in the PBL PG Flex Linoleum Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
The Complete Protectors, stung by its 103-106 setback to the Bacchus Energy Warriors last week, are fancied to prevail over the Pharex Generix, with only one win against seven losses, when they clash at 4 p.m.
The Energy Warriors, on the other hand, tangle with the Sparks at 2 p.m. with the former out to extend their win run to three.
Bacchus guard Paul Lee will have his hands full against a team loaded with collegiate stars like La Salle’s JV Casio and Letran’s RJ Jazul.
The 6-foot Lee, playing out of UE, did a superb job in their win over Hapee as he came through with a personal conference-high of 27 points and 11 rebounds. He also had four assists as the Energy Warriors improved their record to 4-5.
With a 4-4 mark, Hapee, runner-up to Harbour Centre in the last two conferences, remains in the hunt for an automatic semis berth.
But the Complete Protectors must sweep their remaining four games to keep their hopes alive.
